Born in North Miami Beach in 1977. A graduate of North Miami Beach High School, he modeled for Nike, Adidas and the Shop at South Beach. As one interested in the arts and committed to assisting young people – especially those with few resources – he has served as Chairperson of Artistic Awakenings since the time of its incorporation, and has volunteered his time and energies in its projects.
Maribel Camacho serves as an Art Instructor for both the Artistic Awakenings Youth Arts Program and the Roberto Clemente Park- Dorothy Quintana Senior Arts Program.The Dorothy Quintana Arts Program is administered by a private/public collaboration between the City of Miami Parks and Recreation Department and Dynamic Community Development Corporation (CDC) She has studied art at the Miami-Dade College Adults Arts Program, as well as with Eva Roffe, a prominent South Florida artist and painter. Her work has been exhibited in Puerto Rico and Miami – most recently during the Wynwood Latin Art & Music Fest and the Miami Art Basel Week. She also worked as an art instructor at Michaels Arts and Crafts Department Store where she worked with both youth and senior clients. Maribel volunteered for many years at Roberto Clemente Park doing art projects and prensentations, until being hired in 2012 by the City of Miami Parks and Recreation Department.
A native of Chicago, Illinois, Felipe has had a lifetime dedication to the arts. A graduate from the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater, he has been an actor, model and dancer, with experience on television and in the theatre. He has volunteered in many different community shelters and nursing homes, and currently volunteers at the Dorothy Quintana Center as an Art Activity Assistant. He is active in the LGBT community in HIV education and promoting gay equality. Felipe is also known as Felischa Masherie in his professional work.
